    alright, here is the deal:

    r61i 14" with:
    T5250, 667 bus, 2mL2
    wxga+ with camera, matte
    @ $616

    r61 14" with:
    T7500, 800 bus, 4mL2
    wxga with camera, matte
    @ $683

all other configurations are the same. r61i suits me better comparing to r61 at this configuration: cheaper, "larger" screen for side by side excel/word, worse cpu which is fine with me, etc.

But is there anything that makes r61 worth over r61i I should be aware of.

    Thank you for your time.

If all you're going to be doing is word documents and web-surfing, then the R61i should do you well.

Depending on how the R61i is configured, you may lose a Firewire port. Other than that, you don't lose anything else.

I think the better processor is well worth the extra $67 bucks, but probably not for you since you don't really need it. I say go with the R61i for the larger screen space.

There really isn't any different between the two except you can configure the R61 to have dedicated graphics.

    Thanks to both of you.

I want a integrated video card and not really need FW1394. Recent R series 30% off sale is very good makes a @150 difference b/w T and R which gives me enough reason to choose R over T.

Well, I was going to wait for penryn x61. not sure how much extra that would cost though.

X61 doesn't have a discrete video card option.

I would suggest the R61 with discrete.

lol, my bad,my bad. I meant to say integrated video card. Yeah, I want a intel x3100 to be specific. I wish penryn x61 would remain under $1000 after discounts
