    Hey,

I dont know if this has been asked already, but I couldn't find it when i searched...

Thinkvantage takes up a crapload of memory, and I am using my T61 for personal use. I don't feel like I need most of what thinkvantage has to offer. However, I still wish to keep the system restore capability and the disk defrag thing.

First question is....Is it necessary to keep all this thinkvantage stuff running on my laptop? When i open up my task manager, i see all these thinkvantage processes running that i dont feel i need.

second question is....If this ^^ is not necessary, how do i disable some of these thinkvantage processes and just keep the two i mentioned above? If this is not possible, then how do i disable all of thinkvantage?

Thanks in advance for the help!

the disk defrag. and system restore belong to windows. thinkvantage has the Rescue n Recovery.

well, if you really don't find the thinkvantage tools useful, you can go ahead and delete them all in the "add/remove program" or you can go to "administrative tools/services" and disable their running modules.

by deleting or disabling all of them might cause some of the laptop's functions unusable, i.e keyboard shortcuts....

it is recommended that you keep the Thinkvantage System Update and Power Manager. it is the best Power Management tool ever!
