I will do a lot of word processing on laptop and my questions is:

For text processing and occasional movie watching, is 14" xga better or sxga better? I don't like small fonts.

Also, it is to expensive to get a flexview 15" on a T60 so how different it is between the flexview and non-flexview? Is non-flexview really so bad?

I don't need wide view angles, all I need is clear text display with sharp contrast and pictures.

    Any ideas?

The regular screens aren't bad, it is just the FlexView is phenomenal.

For word processing, resolution does not make much difference. If you can stand small fonts, you can fit more on the screen. If not, Word is very good at scaling fonts smoothly to any size.

It's Web sites that don't always scale fonts well.

I had the 15" T42 with FlexView screen. It was a great notebook. It was just bigger than I wanted. I like the V3000 a lot. My only complaints are the battery is a little loose and I wish they offer a higher resolution screen like the Dell e1405. It is not as well built as the T42, but cost half as much so it is a trade-off.

if u dislike small fonts, you will be safest to stick with XGA, which is fine for most ppl doing word processing or surfing.

More XGA screesn are sold than all else, by far!

Because you dislike small fonts, you better check out and play with SXGA+ before buying it ! Yes word processors can be scaled, but some apps dont scale well (nor do some browsers or sites, as Chris mentioned. For example, this site in IE).
