Hey all, got my T420 in last week and have a question concerning warranty. I obviously have the regular warranty it comes with, but I also added on the onsite warrant option. Do I need to do anything special to activate this? Is there any way that I can check to confirm that I have the onsite warranty. I dont want to have to call them just to have them tell me I never bought the onsite while i actually did.

    Thanks!

Nope, the warranty follows the machine, not the owner. There's a link in the sticky to check the warranty status. Occasionally, it's slow to update. If it's not correct, give it a few weeks to update before you call Lenovo to inquire.

In addition to what ZaZ said, you can open the ThinkVantage Toolbox on your X220 and on the top it shows the warranty remaining. Click on "Learn More" and you get more specific information regarding your warranty.

Hm. Question regarding this.. slowness to attatch to your machine.

Thinkpad protection requires that you purchase it within 30 (or was it 90?) days of machine purchase. Has anybody ever had trouble with this slowness causing it to go over that 30 day limit and then have TPP get denied?

(I have an order for a TPP plan that is taking its sweet a** time and I'm wondering if I should actively pursue it and escalate this issue with support)

It's already purchased - should be no issues.

I bought the on-site warranty option along with my T420s. The enhanced warranty option was delivered by email a couple of weeks before the computer arrived. The email contained a link for the warranty activation (the warranty upgrade needs to be attached to a specific serial number). After I had received my notebook I found out that the link wouldn't work for me so I forwarded the email to ThinkPlus care along with my model and serial number and they did the necessary. On-site repair is now shown in the support section of ThinkVantage Toolbox.
