    does adding a second stick of RAM in T520, recognized after reboot or reformat?

    my T520 is in shipping with 4GB RAM(1 DIMM). i want to add a 4GB RAM extra stick. Does windows 7 recognizes the second stick of ram after reboot or do i need to install OS again?

    If anyone already did this please help me out

    If its working (not faulty ram) it's recognized as soon as you start the computer.

    Yep, confirming previous reports.

    I bought a T520, went out and purchased 2 4gb sticks right away. The day i got it, got it open, replaced the RAM, booted right up showing all 8gb.

    yea, it will read it with no additional work involved...mine reads it at 1600 mhz as well, but this depends on the processor..

    Try reseating the RAM. Even though it "clicked" in, the initial angle you inserted them might not be in all the way.

    After you do that, go right into BIOS before booting into Windows to see if it recognizes the additional RAM.
