    i need help!

i'm running W701 with 920XM and 3800M, pretty much top of the line spec.

when i run Prime95 with CPU monitoring tool, i noticed that the CPU never goes above 2.0Ghz.

Rather, it fluctuates between 2.0Ghz and 1.2Ghz pretty evenly.

CPU Temperature fluctuates between 70~90 Celcius.

is this a normal behavior for this CPU? i thought it would engage turbo boost and should speed up to past 3.0Ghz but I never see above 2.0Ghz...

already repasted both CPU and VGA, and even replaced CPU Fan. am also using the lastest drivers, windows updates and all that jazz.

pretty much lost at this point on what to do.

i'm also getting the score of ~8500 on 3dMark06 when I should be getting 13000+ (with 920XM and 3800M). i think it's due to the slow CPU speed.

by the way, system stability is excellent. ran prime95 for 10+ hours no problem. also ran Tomb raider benchmark for 6+ hours and no problem.

    it just runs dog slow...

    help?

How is your battery, and is it a generic one or a genuine Lenovo unit?

it's a genuine battery and it's showing good health. lenovo PM tool also correctly identifies 230W genuine AC adapter it's attached to.

    thanks for suggestion
