    Does Lenovo usually update the graphics cards on their thinkpads? (I'm a little impatient to wait for the t410 in january). Sony recently upgraded their ati 3470s and 3650s to 4570s and 4650s, so do you guys think the t400 and t500 will get an update. Also, since the ideapads y450 and y550s are now offered with 110m gt and 130m gt, so shouldn't lenovo ensure their t series is still top-of-the-line?

    From Lenovo website:

    Processors

    * Powerful Intel® Core™2 Duo processors

    Graphics

    * ATI Mobility Radeon HD3650 on T500
    * ATI Mobility Radeon HD3670 on T400
    * Intel GMA 4500MHD on T400s
    * Switchable graphics
    * Integrated graphics

    Storage

    * Up to 250GB 5400rpm hard disk drive
    * Up to 200GB 7200rpm hard disk drive
    * Up to 320GB 5400rpm hard disk drive
    * Up to 64GB solid-state storage drive

    If you click on T series and then go to "Features" you'll see this. 3670 sounds rather sweet.

    I think that's a misprint. The T400 has a Radeon 3470 and it is unlikely that it would be offered with a more powerful GPU than the larger T500.

    That is indeed a misprint. The T400 has an ATI Mobility Radeon 3470, and the T500 has a 3650.

    I think in the past, Lenovo has not done any graphics card refreshes in between model refreshes, and I doubt they would this time. I am 95% sure an update will not happen.

    As for Sony, they are still selling many of their laptops with the 3xxx series, including the FW series.

    Yeah, from what I have seen the graphics card refresh happen when the model refreshes.

    Yea, you'll probably have to wait for the T410 & T510 for updated graphics options. :(

    man, t400 with the 4570 would be the perfect laptop for me. i fear the t410 will be 2x the price of current t400's

    I'm guessing the starting prices of the T410/510 will be similar (perhaps a bit higher) than the starting prices of the T400/500 when they were first released. Of course, that will be higher than current T400/500 prices, though, but they will decrease over time.
