I cant find any documentation on this for the GPS in new thinkpads. They advertise it but then leave everyone in the dark in terms of documentation.
does it work throughout north america and around the world? what are the limitations country wise.
What is needed to get the gps to work? I hear some people talking about slipping in a sim card. Will a blank SIM card work? do you need a service provider plan? Do you need extra software for the maps?
Plz fill me in on all and neccesary details. thanks

I think it comes with the WWAN cards. I can't figure out how to use mine either though

I forgot what I actually did, but on one of our review notebooks either Andrew or I was able to get it working with Google Earth.

Tried it just now and it works. I have the verizon wwan and no service and had to remove access connections for it to work. Otherwise I got "Cannot start hardware device. Please try again later' message. It plots your location decently with the default google online map feature.

I can get my GPS to work but when I launch google maps it just shows the map of of the whole area. It doesn't actually show a pointer or my movement/direction.. Does anyone have a pointer when they use their GPS? Basically I want to see the road i am travelling on.
