sup guys, I just received my T60 and I was wondering whether or not I should drain the battery. I remember with my old laptop I was told to drain the batter all the way so it would charge to 100%.

I would first charge it all the way up; that's what the manuals usually say. Actually, I would refer you to Chris' Battery Guide for all the info you need on this subject.

The newer Li-Ion batteries are much more advanced than the older Ni-Cd batteries used on previous notebook, and perhaps your old notebook. They don't require being dischrged, and then charged back up to keep the battery the strongest it can be. However, to preserve the battery for the longest amount of time, it is advisable that you keep the battery at low temperatures, and do not discharge the battery too low. When the battery reaches to low a charge, the internal circuit will isolate the whole battery, and then it will totally useless.
