Hi, I'm new here, not experienced computer user and unfortunately not even English native speaker.... But I'm also so keen to learn which are correct drivers for my machine (Lenovo ThinkPad SL500 2746-2ZG) NOT using this creepy ThinkVantage utilities like System Update or so which I simply don't trust. My first problem is about "Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility". What I need to do first is to determine which chipset I got. On intel web site they say to open "Device Manager" then expend the "System devices" entry. Then they say: "Look for the chipset name in a string similar to the following: "Intel® 955X Memory Controller Hub - 2774". In this example, the chipset is an Intel® 955X Express Chipset."... So here is what I got from my "Device manager" and still not sure which exactly one was my chipset model:

Any help kindly appreciated.![]()

Intel PM45 is your chipset.

Is it really " PM45", not " GM45" though...?
Thanks for your suggestion anyway.

Hi again, sorry for my persistence but I'm about to do things I'm rally not competent about and I wouldn't like to mess it, so I just need to be sure before I act. So please somebody confirm, weather it's some mistake about this " PM45" chipset which "Padme" mentioned before or this is exactly right. Because I found and downloaded some software form "intel" web site recognizing types of chipset and it pointed like it is " GM45"... This is all about finding right chipset software for it then. Hopping somebody helps.
