This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    duh, got BSOD four times last night on my XP

    and I think I know what causes this.

    plug external DVD (USB). Start that free program for burning images called "ImgBurn" . Insert an empty DVD in the external DVD recorder, like you would burn something on to it, and just try to take the disk out ..

    The Sonic DLA driver pops up and says that if you take the disk out, you may loose data because the ImgBurn is still running (doing nothing though). So you click OK, and boooom, BSOD :cool:

    IMO, it's the Sonic DLA driver that causes it

    Packet writing software is very flakey in my experience. If you are not using it, I would dump it.
