okay, so I am a student looking for a thin and light/ultraportable laptop that cost less that $1000. I came up with many laptops but when I read reviews I found at least one complaint about build quality. So I decided to make build quality a priority. Lenovo seems to be the only manufacturer that care enough to make quality PC laptops (Apple too, but do not want OS X)

My options were ideapad y series, thinkpad edge and the T series.

But thinkpads looks like they were built better. And ideapads look like lenovo hired Acer to design the hardware. :D

Since T420s was over $1000 I was left with edge e420s.

So should I go for the e420s? Have there been any issues or complaints about the notebook?

    Thanks.

If you only play Flash games, you will have no benefit from a discrete graphics card whatsoever--in fact, you would probably only lose battery life.

You may also want to consider the X220 if weight is a factor. It has the same resolution screen as the E420s in a smaller form factor (there is also an optional IPS screen choice), but retains the performance and has even better build quality.

The E420s is not a bad machine, though, and is certainly of better quality than the IdeaPads.

Thanks for the reply. The x220 is definitely a better machine. But I need the extra screen real estate and an optical drive.
