    Hello,

after talking with tech support, finally found the expresscache installation file. they never installed it from the factory.

I have the e430 with i7 processor if it matters

I got it installed and setup. Windows now boots in 1min or less. fastest was 27 seconds. but generally its boots in 1min or less.

Windows XP mode loads in a matter of seconds vs over a minute.

but when I do benchmarks it seems like its not actually working properly. also boot time should be faster.

got a "baseline" of the SSD. formatted it to test it. this is the SSD that cames with the HDD booster. that Lenovo is selling with the e430. don't know bout the other ones. this is the sandisk u100 16gb msata SSD

    Interface SATA III 6Gb/s
    Capacity (GB)2 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256
    Performance4
    Sequential Read/Write - Up to 450 MB/s 340 MB/s
    Sustained 4K random write - 700 IOPs
    Burst 4K random write - 2300 IOPs

when I setup expresscache it created a Hibernation partition on my SSD drive and from what I gathered its an IFFS partition.

On the Left is PRE-Expresscache on the Right is Post-Expresscache

not much off from a regular HDD. I guess expesscache runs differently then the dataplex software.

I'm wondering if the specs is the reason for low speeds.

Hi Soccrstar! Where did you find the expressdcache installation file? I also have an e430 and recently installed a 60GB mSata drive.

It's in the SWTOOLS folder under apps. I don't know why they didn't install it from the factory though.

Also I don't know if you're aware but the msata port is sata2.

P.S. To give you a fair warning... Expresscache only limits you to 32gb so the remainder of the 60gb you have will just be sitting there collecting dust... I ended up just doing a clean install of windows on my msata drive, installed what I wanted from the SWTOOLS folder, and turned my hdd to a on board storage unit. I have a post somewhere bout my adventures with expresscache and some benchmarks comparing the stock sandisk with expresscache, the upgraded sandforce msata I put in, and straight msata OS install.
