so basically I am running two external monitors, U2410 and U3011 off my x200t.

When I set my U2410 landscape and the U3011 in portrait. I can play vlc in either monitor just fine. However, when U3011 is also in landscape, the U3011 turns blank when I move VLC to the U3011.

    Any enlightenment?

your GPU is not keeping up with your graphical need (i did U2711 + U2410, my X200 have problem). The eGPU is the only way to resolve the situation.

I just find it interesting that the GPU discriminate against the landscape mode.

It is and i am not sure why. But this must be the result of how GPU processes the graphics data.

Have you tried updating your video drivers? Update VLC as well?
