I'm using t60 with advanced mini dock and an external samsung 193p monitor. When I try to install the magic tune software it says it's not compatible with this machine. Is there any other way how to change monitor settings like brightness contrast etc. than via the magic tune software?

External monitors usually have built in controls for changing everything you want to change about them - color, tint, position, sharpness, brightness, etc, etc. You do not need software. I suggest looking at the Samsung manual for more help. Usually it's as simple as pressing a button and getting an on-screen menu.
Out of curiosity, by 193p do you mean 480p, 780p, or 1080p? -
by 193p I mean 193P and it has no hardware controls whatsoever. It's controlled only with the magictune software, which I'm unable to make work.
If you don't believe read this http://www.anandtech.com/showdoc.aspx?i=2024&p=5 -
