I'm getting an x41 tablet with 512 mb of memory. Will buying another 512 mb of memory make a noticable difference? further, the system comes wiht 512 mb of memory, and i'm going to buy another 512 memory. Question is are there two memory slots in this notebook so that i can install the extra memory i bought?

I think the x41 only has one slot. It is funny though the max memory is 1.5GB and I don't think they are making 1.5GB sticks. Maybe there is one soldered to the board. Perhaps the abaxter who has a x41 will know.

zazonz - you're right. It's 512MB soldered to the board. (We've discussed this time and again on the thinkpads.com forums, and it's yet another reason why I'm going for an X3 instead of an X4.)

I'd go ahead and get a 1GB stick if I were you, mliu...

I'd go for the x32 for the standard hard drive which can be upgraded, not the memory.

zazonz: Note that I said one of the reasons :D :p

I'm going for the X32 because of the 2.5" HDD, lower price, and faster CPU. I know I'll never use 2, or even 1.5GB RAM, but I'll at least have the ability to go to 2GB if I need to.

    Hello guys,

    Does it have to be a 400Mhz Ram-Module ??

    I figured out the following:

    Buffalo SO-DIMM 1 GB - DDR2- 533 - PC2 4200

is a 2GB Module also attachable

will it eat more or less Ram afterwords (less-swapping but more ram to be supplied)

    Best Regards,
