i recently purchased a v100 through a retailer and and very satisfied with the purchase, with the exception of the poor build of the lid. the slightest pressure seems to cause ripples in the screen, obviously from contact with the lid, and i'm beginning to see early signs of white spots appearing on the lcd. i've never had a laptop that had a lid this weak, so i'm afraid of the long term damage caused by the poor build. even if this problem cannot be resolved, i wont return the item, since the price i paid was unbeatable, but i'd like to know if this can be resolved without simply resorting to never touching the lid and being extra delicate at all times. would it be possible to open up the lid and "shave" off the area of the lid that most comes into contact with the lcd? or some way to reinforce the lid? i know there are custom lids that can be attached to certain dells and apples, but they are generally only for extremely popular consumer type laptops, so i don't think anyone would make one just for the v100. are there any custom lid makers in the market? any feedback would be great!

If you think the lid is defective call support or return it if you can. I would advise against opening your notebook.
