Hello, my first post. Probably of many :) For the last month or so, I've been having an on-off problem with the fingerprint reader on my X60t. I will put it to sleep and wake it later only to have the fingerprint reader disconnected. PITA. Has anyone else had this happen? What could be causing it? Back in the day when you could chat with Lenovo on the phone for FREE, I'm sure I would just get the old "reinstall the driver" or "load a HD backup" without any attempt to diagnose issue, so hopefully someone here has some insight. Thank you much!

Perhaps it is a bad connection? Anyways, I'd check to make sure regardless if that's the issue or not.

Second, there's a patch for XP that fixes USB connected devices not waking up properly after putting the computer to sleep. Not sure if this applies to you because you didn't seem to offer very much information regarding what OS you're running, SP's, etc,

I think you should re-install the driver and if that doesn't work, load a HD backup.

Sounds like the XP USB wake-up bug to me as well.

sorry about the lack of OS info, i put it in my signature and thought it would show up. i'm running Vista Business, and i'm pretty sure i have SP1. iirc, there was a similar update to the XP wakeup problem a long time ago that applied to Vista, and i'm sure i installed that. this is a recent issue, as well. i will double check the connection if i can get to it. thanks for the responses.

I occasionally get the same problem on my t61p running Vista Business, non-SP1. It seems to only happen when I have more than one user logged in and put the system to sleep with FN-F4.

It clears up after a reboot.
