Booting up, no light, enter password via keyboard no light. Shut down, then the light comes on next to the fingerprint scanner. Only way to turn it off appears by taking the battery out. Is this meant to be so??? Also, its only the left hand side (not sure if thats another light on the right hand side?).

For the x201, it supposed to be on. When you swipe your finger it turn on the laptop for you.If you want to turn it off play around with thinkvantage software # download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/thinkvantage_en/tfs56ug_ en.pdf
