At first, I didn't know why I saw so many complaints but now I know. I contacted Lenovo support via phone and I spoke with a rep named Andre. I contacted him because I needed to price match an x61s I had just purchase. He told me "get a quote number and send it to my email". I did, that, a week ago. I've sent him 5 personal emails (one per day approx) asking why he had not returned my emails and why I haven't been updated. Never had a response. Then today I got this:
I will be out of the office starting 10/05/2007 and will not return until 10/08/2007.
Thank you for your note. Please be advised that I will have not have access to voice mail and email during the above mentioned time. However, your note is very important to me and I will respond to your message when I return. If your note is of an urgent matter, please contact by backup below. Thank you and have a great day.

Thank you
then I contacted another rep for a warranty upgrade. We talked on the phone and then he told me he was unable to upgrade my warranty because my university didn't offered it for the configuration I had purchase![]()
then I told him ok I'll just buy it at the regular price. He told me he'll contact me back because I had requested a lower price than standard warranty prices. That was a week ago. After several phone calls and emails he never responded.
I'm not doing this to upset people or seem like a Dell fanboy. But I've NEVER had this problem with Dell. If they ever said they would call me back they did at the exact time. They would always respond to my emails and solve my problems.
I feel that it's fair to let future customers know what current customers think of their support.
Below average.

Sorry to hear you had such a bad time with Lenovo. I've also had pretty good luck with Dell, although the wait times on the phone seem to be longer. Once a power supply burned out and they quickly sent out a new one while the machine was under warranty, but otherwise I haven't had a reason to call them.
When ordering my T61, I called Lenovo on many occasions to cancel orders (I kept upgrading the machine as the price was also falling rapidly at the time.) I was always able to get a hold of someone, and they were always polite and did what I asked of them. I never had any trouble.
Perhaps a difference was that I didn't care who I spoke with, I would always just talk to the next available rep (they all seemed to be in Canada: Linus, Brianna, etc. - no one from India, and never anyone with a fake name.) I'm not saying this to refute what the OP experienced, just that I didn't have any trouble with them. I'd give them a B+ to an A-. -
First three time I called Lenovo, they were all answering from India.
I was so mad!! I could not understand and they did not understand what I wanted..
However one person who talked recently he was really kind (understandable) and worked out well. I have got his extension if you really need it.(I think he is from Sale's department) -
ari_m, I understand what you're saying.
I just feel like they don't care about their customers once they have them. In fact, this x61s I have because they still shipped it when I requested it to be canceled! -
Yeah, because everyone who calls Dell gets a call back at the scheduled time
I'm not saying you aren't justified in complaining, but realize that "all these complaints" are from all the people who have time to come on the web and do nothing but complain. Fact of the matter is with ANY company or product, the most vocal customers are the UNhappy ones - not the happy ones.
Good luck -
Your already on the path to become another monstermaxx...only need one thread to complain.

I thought it was flooded already.
Didn't stop me from ordering a t61p with the coupon last week though.
I hope it works out-if not I will be whining here too but I used amex so back it will go regardless of their response.
I love amex, best way to say fu to nonresponsive retailers.
