Hi, newbie here, sorry if it has been answered before.
bought a new g550 last jan and out of warranty as of today. some keys on my laptop were gone, so bought a new keyboard and fixed it.
while fixing the keyboard, apparently i screwed up the ribbon cable(??). the one i am talking is on the back of multimedia strip panel (the one that has power button, volume controls, one key rescue)
it looks the ribbon cable that goes from this panel to the motherboard (under the keyboard is broken), as i see the circuit lines on the ribbon cable distorted.
efforts to set it straight did go in vain and i cannot even start my laptop,
i don't know the exact name of this part. i believe if i get the right cable, my laptop will power up.
any suggestions are appreciated.

Not sure what you're referring to: the cable connecting your keyboard to your motherboard, or your laptop's monitor to the motherboard? Neither should prevent your computer from booting up, although the former may prevent it from POSTing (but you should still see a power light, and there should be error beeps).

thanks for the response.
it is cable that connects the power button panel to the motherboard.
if you see the pic above, the ribbon cable will be on the backside and the other end of the ribbon cable goes to motherboard. ( i have to take out the keyboard to plug this cable into motherboard).
Can you please tell me where i can get the parts list of g550. i have searched lenovo site but could not find anything related to g550?
