The only game I want to load is the sims and was wondering what I can do to prevent my system from overheating. What is the longest time range I can play before it starts to overheat

You really shouldn't have a problem with the machine over heating under that load.

Do you have temperature monitoring software on your T60 (like SpeedFan)?

What sort of temps are you getting? It should probably be said that just because your notebook feels warm, that doesn't mean it's overheating. ;)

I've played Civilization4 for more than 5 hours and I didn't have any heat issues at all on my T60 .

Can't say the same on my HP DV1000 as it gets quite hot after 1-2 hours. My Panasonic W2 is the worst though as it gets really hot within a hour.
