I do java programming and watch films. I finally do'nt know which of the following config is fit with me in T410.

    HDD 7200 vs 5400 rpm

    discrete vs integratd VGA

    9 cell vs 6 cell

BT 2.1 pan vs a usb BT dongle (are there important diffrent features between them?)

and another question, I'am going to buy a T410 from UK by help of a friend in UK, please guid me how to reduce costs?

7200 rpm, boosts the speed and the start-up time, consumes a bit more energy

Discrete video card on T410 is not a drastic improvement over the Integrated one, reduces the battery life by an hour or more

9 cell is heavier, sticks out of the laptop, but improves the battery life by 30-40%, If you're a mobile user it's the best choice,

Go on Lenovo-UK - Check out the special offers and Coupons (you can look them up easily)

UK coverage don't use WiMAX technology so it's very unlikely you get that option on Lenovo UK. I guess Lenovo have run out of WXGA+ panels so taken them off as an option to prevent delays on orders, they were selectable a couple of months ago.

You can buy a preconfigured machine, but it will likely cost more.

If all you're doing is java programming and watching films, you really don't need discrete graphics. Arrandale's integrated graphics are more than powerful enough for those tasks.

Sir Roger, your right about my usage from T410.

    What about HHD,Battery,VGA,BT?

    What about i3-370 vs i5-450 (+£42.30) vs i5-520 (+£99.40)?

i think you should just save the money on the hdd and keep the 5400 rpm drive, if you need more speed get a ssd down the line.

Battery wise it depends on how much battery time you need, and since you haven't mentioned anything in regard to that, it is hard to make a suggestion.

VGA? can you elaborate on what you are trying to say here?

BT wise, i would go with the internal, since you would free your usb port to do other thing. The cost difference between internal and external micro dongle is minimal.

CPU wise, i would go with the i5-450m.

I mean discrete vs integratd VGA.

does heavy of 9-cell & its stick-out worth more battery-life?

    it is GPU not VGA.

    integrated GPU is fine.

How long do you need your battery life to be?

Yes, this term (VGA) comes from PC age with me.
I want about 4 hours of medium work load.

not sure what is IDEA. I think you should get the 9 cells battery if you ever run the screen brightness at above 50% brightness and have the wifi on.

Just throwing this out there but my T400 with discrete Radeon 3400 and integrated with switchable runs Starcraft 2 pretty dang well in medium settings. It looks good

I have 7200 rpm WD Scorpio and boot time I have to say is fast. Runs hot under my right hand though where its located. Kinda loud.

Battery goes 4-5 hours on maximum battery settings with integrated graphics.

Also note I have an addition 5400 160gb hd in my ultraby.
