    Hi everyone :)
    I have a question
    I'm going buy notebook for
    brend IBM
    Extremely 90 % for job

    1. web
    2. a lot of typing, reading and writing
    3. monitoring of clients wireless networks
    4.need the most mobility
5 some times watch DVD or Divx movies

    My choice is
IBM T41 (model 2379DJU) series or IBM R50 (18363SU) series.
    I'm confused about warranty...
    T41 has 3 years and R50 has 1 year (3 yesrs-add about 270 usd)
May I ask owners of these models to help me to do right choice?[8)]
    Thank you in advance,
    Dmytry

both IBM R50 and T41 has almost same config
    PM 1.6 GHz Centrino technology
    40 Gb hdd 5400 rpm
    256 DDR 333 RAM
SXGA+ 1400x1050 resolution ATI Radeon 9000 with 32 Mb memory on the board
difference only 15"vs 14"1 screen size and 1vs 3 yestr warranty, I clear understand it's diff series (R and T)
    IBM T41 cost 1859
    IBM R50 ---- 1899 (pls 3 yesr warranty upgrade 270)> 2000 usd [ :(!]
Any way, many thanks for your opinion[ ;)]

The R50 is simply IBMs "budget" or more affordable laptop. It's slightly heavier than the T41 and can be configured really cheaply with a Celeron processor. However, you can also configure a high-end R50 and it will then match the performance of the T41. Really the T41 is a better machine since it is thinner, lighter and can be configured with higher end components and comes with a default 3-yr. warranty -- It's targeted at business users and power users. It sounds to me like the T41 is more the notebook for you, but if you want to save money then you can go with the R50 and still be happy.

I say go for the T41
one of your requirements was mobility
and that is enoungh to forget the R50
plus the 3year warranty is great for peace of mind.
