    i have a busted z60T with a 60 gb hd,

    i also have a thinkpad T60 with a 60 gb hardrive, will I be able to use the hd from the z60t in the t60?

    Are they both SATA? If they are the same interface you can. But if they both have 60g drives why would you need to try and use the one from the z60T? Or are you just trying to backup the data. Just check to see if they are both the same interface and give it a whirl.

    Woah, you got a lot of 60s in there :)

    The HDDs are interchangeable, as they are all SATA. However, if you boot the T60 with the z60T, Windows may complain about licensing issues with swapping hardware.

    Ya you might run into the problem Charr mentioned. Unfortunately, if your z60t is messed up you will not be able to remove the drivers for the hard drive controller...because that is a trick to allow you to boot on other hardware. You might have to do a repair install. Or actually just use a linux live boot disk and use an external drive to back up the data ;).
