I am proud to have my W510.. I just received it last week. i am getting annoyed with its GPU ; NVIDIA Quadro FX 880M Graphics with 1GB DDR3

I am a gamer, so can someone tells me if i am able to get rid of this current quadro GPU and swap it by NVIDIA GTX 460, or 470, or 480. ATI 5870 is cool too!

Have you guys done that before?

    thank you

Nah, not a chance. It's soldered into the mobo, AFAIK.
I'll look for pictures. -> Here you go!
Even if it wasn't, you would have a problem with landing a non-supported GPU there. Need to mod the HS, add BIOS support, etc.
    I'd recommend a HP8540w for 15", W701, Dell M6500 or HP8740w for 17".
But since you game - why not Clevo/AW?

No, there is no way to upgrade the GPU, as in most laptops. The only Thinkpad with swappable GPUs is the W70x series, which uses MXM GPUs (but as far as I know, the BIOS only supports workstation GPUs, so a GeForce or Radeon wouldn't work anyways).
