I'm a computer novice seriously considering purchasing an X1 (waiting for the right price). However, in the computer I am replacing (z61t) I had already filled my 500gb hard drive. I plan to get a 2tb+ external hard drive to consolidate all of my old files- but Im wondering if it is possible to get a 500gb hdd or hybrid drive that would fit in the x1. Do they exist? Are they cost prohibitive? How will I know if a drive I find is compatible?

I dunno if it fits, but I will say, stay far away from that Seagate hybrid drive...of the 3 I've used at the office 2 failed and the 3rd was exhibiting the click of death.
Western Digital Black or Intel SSD are the most reliable options IMO. -
Ah- thanks for the tip Dreamliner330!
So far l gather that 7mm drives are not offered, or at least not widely available, in larger capacities than 320gb. It seems some owners have bought 9mm drives and "removed the spacer" to get them to fit into the x1.
After reading around a bit- I see that the x1 can accept a micro SSD drive as long as you do not get a model with WWAN.

But...
How do you pick an mSSD? I keep seeing an "intel 80gb" mentioned (?) Anyone know if this is the best choice, and what I should pay for one?
hdd or hybrid drive > 320gb exist to put in X1?
