Are there problems with replacing the battery on these machines?

I'd also like to know if anyone knows how a >1.7 Ghz model could be obtained. The reason I ask is because occasionally I need to compile something or render something out that is processor intensive and a small speed boost for these tasks would be much appreciated.

This seems like a perfect machine because it is under 4 lbs, it does not have a windows key, it has a clit mouse, it has nice touch typing keyboard, it does not have a track pad, and it does not have an optical drive. Perfect.

LOL, you called it a 'clit mouse'. Sorry, I just found that hilarious.

Do you mean replacing the cells in a battery? Or buying a new one? There should be no problem replacing the old one with a new one, provided you buy the correct battery.

I don't believe there is a >1.7GHz model available. However, you can always replace it yourself with a higher-speed CPU.

Its possible to replace the cpu? I could take out the old cpu and put a newer and faster one in its place? This is amazing.

Yes, you can replace the CPU with a faster one, provided it is pin-compatible with the socket. You would need to open up the chassis, though, so take caution.

I believe that the X32 has a Dothan processor, so the highest you can go is 2.26GHz. However, the cost to obtain that CPU, along with its potential increased heat output, may not be worth it in the long run.

You can find a 1.86GHz CPU on eBay for about $60 shipped.
