I just got my t61p in the mail. Theres a little ziplock bag with 2 hex screws inside, a short fat one, and a long and skinny one. Does anyone know what they are used for?

Also, im not sure if anyone else has this problem, but my battery slightly wobbles, about a millimeter up and down. If so, whats the best way to take care of it, just shove a piece of paper on the side or leave it alone? Or is there a more efficient way to take of it to prevent long term probs?

    Any info would be appreciated.

my battery is also loose, the same way as yours, and when i mentioned it to a CSR while working on another issue, he just shrugged it off, so i'm not too concerned

The short screw is the security screw for your optical drive in the ultraslim bay. If you never intend to swap out the ultraslim bay, you should probably use the short screw.

Same as others. The battery is lose. And it seem to be worse after 2 month of use.

May be Lenovo will come one day with a free replacement

anyone knows what the long and skinny hex screw is for?

as for the battery, i do have 2 yr onsite warranty. As a temp solution, i have electrical tape on the sides to wedge things better. Nothing really wobbles now.

Ill give support later on a call and see whatsup

    UPDATE!!!!!

Lenovo rep told me battery are never suppose to be snug on their laptops. Why, because theres a built in mechanism that ejects the battery in case you drop the laptop. Apparently, if the battery is snug, it wont eject and the heavy battery will severely damage the laptop. The looseness is not suppose to cause any longterm problems. He also mention that his 5 yr old laptop has the same loose battery with no problems whatsoever.

Interesting.......lenovo engineers huh......, well in any case, I have a 2 yrs onsite warranty so im all good. So just some heads up guys :)
