For 32bit Vista the readme for the BIOS update suggests that you install the Microsoft hotfix first.

    ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/pc/pccbbs...s/7luj08uc.txt

However, that is a hotfix that is required is not public yet

From the Lenovo BIOS update text:

I ended up installing the new bios update without doing this hotfix, b/c it is not available and I found out about it afterwards. I am really wary about bios updates because I had another computer that I wrecked because we lost power during a bios update

Should I be worried at all? Thanks

I installed the bios update and haven't had any problems. Hopefully we will be good. Thanks for the heads up though.
