    Hi,

I am not comfortable with the 60Hz refresh rate of my T60p screen. Is there a way to increase that? When i check the ATI control center, there is only one option there(60Hz). I am running it at 1680x1050. My T60p is type 8744-C9U. Also, is the higher refresh rate harmful to the screen?

    Many thanks.
    Ahmed

Technically LCDs don't really have an adjustable refresh rate as CRTs do. (wiki link)

Do you mean that your screen 'sparkles' or something along the lines of what people had been complaining about in the Dell forums?

If you want to try something: Right click desktop -> Personalization->Display Settings->Advanced settings->Monitor and uncheck the "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display" and you should be able to change the screen refresh rate

Brainstew, thanks for your reply. I see a fluctuation in the brightness which is most pronounced with a certain level of gray. Could it be my eyes?
About the refresh rate, i checked the IBM support site, and they list many other modes for the T60/T60p.

post above edited but you were faster

If you were here the refresh rates that are mentioned regard settings on external monitors.
