I am in Canada. I want a thinkpad but I hear through EPP one can get a discount. If anyone knows how I can get the EPP discount price in Canada or check out the systems of EPP, please let me know either by replying here or pming me.

ALso, are the EPP prices muhc better and systems good as well? Thanks.

i dont think you can get epp without a hookup at ibm
i have access to the epp site and everyhting because one of my friends works at ibm
but u remember those specials that the us site had at the end of nov and early dec? those were way better than the crappy epp pricing here

EPP stands for "Employee Purchase Program", so you need to know someone who works at either IBM or Lenovo in order to get the discount.

No. I would have to give you my friend's IBM serial number, and I can't do that. Employees are limited to 25 purchases a year through the EPP.

I called lenovo and used a deal sponsored by VISA that gave some pretty good deals, actually better than EPP, but I still don't have my computer after a little over a month. Discover Card also did something like that before and if you are a student/alumni you should check with your school to see what they offer for discounts.

Yep, you can get the same deal online through visaperks.ca (which directs to the appropriate Lenovo page) I payed 1700CAD for a system (87445BU, still waiting delivery) for which the regular advertise price is 1850CAD. I wonder if I could have gotten a better deal elsewhere.

I ordered it about 10 days ago. I actually phoned soon after writing the previous email and they told me it has been shipped and it should arrive on Monday at the latest. So it would be about 14-15 days in total, not too bad (if it indeed arrives). Why does it take that long for you, what did they tell you?

Just curios, for those that have T60 87445BU, how's 1700CAD (+GST of course) for a price?

I paid $1439 USD for mine, which is about $1700 CAD---exactly what you paid. I don't know what your configuration is like, though. Mine had a Core 2 Duo 2.00 GHz, 120 GB HD, 1 GB RAM, 128 MB X1400, a 3-year warranty, etc.

(I say "had" instead of "has" because I returned mine due to problems with the screen. Maybe you'll have better luck with yours.)

i went to visaperks but they only have models of the widescreen t series. I want a really maxed out 14 inch with sxga+ thinkpad model.

think that visaperks will add that on?

also, anyone who'd be wliling to help me out with employee discount please pm me :). i am in canada.

I can't believe that in these 15 pages (through visaperks.ca) you cannot find the model you want.

Well something about a credit card hold that lasted three weeks. Which is a very interesting since I sent the sales rep three emails, and called him twice to check on the status that he promised he was working on. Total BS answer.
