Hi, i bought a 6 cell battery for my x201 off ebay.seller claimed it was brand new and unused, and original. apparently they bought a few x201´s for the office and bought the 9 cell batteries for them so were getting rid of the installed 6 cell.

it certainly looks new (rubber feet not blemished at all) and it looks like the original battery, but i would like to find out how old it is. is there a way to do this by looking at the serial number or something? thanks in advance.

The manufacturer name, manufacture date and other details like cycle count can be found in the ThinkVantage Power Manager.
