I have been using Dell, because I m quite satisfied with the warranty service. if I have any problem, the tec. went to my house, and replace it, i don´t have to send the notebook to anywhere and that takes long time.

now i m interest to buy T400, and i don´t know if lenovo has the same service. my friends who have HP, when they have problem, they need to send the notebook to somewhere and usually take like 1 - 4 weeks...

What do you have to do when you need service?

PS. I m living in Mexico

I have on-site warranty (3 years) and tech support has been good so far. The first time I contacted them, I asked for a set of recovery discs for my T61p and the representative sent them over with no charge using UPS 2nd day air. The second time, I was experiencing fan issues and they sent a technician over a couple days later to replace the fan. He came later than the time frame I was given, but that wasn't a big problem.

However this is for tech support from the Atlanta call center, not sure how it is for other countries.

Can't say what the situation is in Mexico, but in the United States, the same technicians service both our Dell and Lenovo laptops. I give the edge to Lenovo's call center, because I get a native english speaker on the line first thing every time, and they usually will just replace the part I ask them to replace with a minimal time spent doing basic diagnostics.

If you look around the forum, it seems generally most people have had pretty okay or very good experiences with support for a variety of issues, although there are some horror stories as well. So far, I have had no reason to call support, so I can't really comment.
