how long does it take to ship?

Have any of you built a labtop on lenovo's site lately? How long did it take to ship? I noticed while i was ordering they said 2-3weeks. Does it really take that long or is that just an exaggerated estimate because it will never take that long. I hope they can at least ship it out sometimes next week.

I think that's a pretty good estimate actually. I ordered mine a little while back (so a little fuzzy on the details) but another thing to look out for is the time it will take to assemble your custom built laptop. I think that added about a week for my laptop.

 

When do they charge your cc? When they build it or when the ship it?

 

Charged when it's shipped. But you may see a pre-auth charge to make sure you have funds.

 

I think most people have gotten their orders within 1.5 wks. I got mine in 6 days including the weekend.

It took two days to ship(ordered late on the 25th) and about a day and a half to get from Honk Kong to Arizona where I live.

The bad part is that it got here late on friday and UPS is closed untill Monday. My laptop is litteraly 5min away and I can't get to it.

I can't wait!! I got one of those T61 4:3 aspect screens; I'm too old-fashioned and new fads like widescreen and glossiness simply don't attract my interest.

 

Mine was delivered five days after the order was placed.

Ordered a T61p 14" on 2/27... still nothing. I check the status on Lenovo's website, and it still says "In Process".

For those that got their laptops within a week, did you customize the configuration?

In a week? Thats great.

I ordered one on March 1 (Saturday) and one 3 March (today - Monday). Estimated shipping date for both is 20 March.

Even I see the status as 'In Progress'. I checked with the Lenovo Agent and he said it has been sent to Warehouse. I heard that Lenovo ships product from China and/or HongKong. So we really can not guess.

 

I ordered a T61p on 2/2/08, it gave an estimate of 2-3 weeks. It shipped out this morning 2/4/08 from Hong Kong, last tracking update was in Korea around lunch time.

So, they're certainly fast to get the purchase processed, and system built and sent out, can't tell you how fast the shipping is yet, but it's through UPS so I'd imagine I'll get getting it pretty soon.

 

Ordered a T61 on 3/2, estimated 3/20, checked today and its shipped already. Yey.

 

MY t61 ship with almost 14 days, it depend on whether you order Dvd-rw,it need one more week.

My order doesn't even show it being built? Next to status it simply says "In Process"

Thats' normal. I was expecting more status messages from Lenovo when I ordered, but I had an "In Process" and then "Shipped". Total time to get my machine was 1 week. It is probably being built right now.

PS. Wait till you get a tracking number and see where it journeys to before it gets to your place

Heh, I love keeping track of my packages as they fly over here. I remember one time though when I ordered a new HDD for my desktop and it sat in the processing center in my city for three week days! Well worth the rate to bring me up to a terra though!

Cant wait for the laptop, I'll be on the lookout in about a week!

Wow, I'm amazed at the shipping speed, I ordered it Sunday afternoon 3/2/08, and UPS tracking says it arrived at my apartment front desk this Wednesday morning 3/5/08.

So how do I remove Earthlink and AOL? Its not in the uninstall section. I dont want to go through the hassle of clean install.

anyone know about shipping from purchases made from the outlet? I purchased yesterday 3/4/08 a new X61s from the outlet, said estimated ship date was 3/11. That doesn't seem right if the thing is already built and boxed?
