    saw one on ebay for 550 AUD, is this a good deal? Need a laptop for downloading movies.

    get a T61 with intel gpu instead... i would avoid T61p all together with their infamous nvidia GPU, unless you like lots of future liability.

    Oh by the way, i got a X200t from Lenovo.com.au for 999 AUD today....

    If you want to use a machine for bittorrent, why don't you get a NAS setup or a R61. You can run them all day if you want.

    A brand new R500 right now is going for 899 dollars on Lenovo.com.au with 3 years warranty.

    From a value perspective you're almost always better off buying used, whether it's a notebook, a automobile or a camera. In the case of notebooks, most things people do with them aren't very CPU intensive, which means any CPU released in the last five years will do.
