    Hello everyone~
I'm presently using a mac borrow from a friend, like it & hate it.
I want to investe a small amount of money on a 2nd hand laptop, something that is cheap so if I drop it, I won't want to kill myself, but it also has to be able to work well.(I'm a student, using mainly word, excel, powerpoint, photoshop, alot of internet surfing, movie. I might want to play some fps games on this laptop if possible)
and the T43 was somehow in my list (IBM was and still is my #1)
I have found some deals on ebay and some local seller.

For config like this, what could be the reasonable price? (450USD?)
    Intel® Pentium® M Centrino Processor 750 1.86GHz/ 533MHz FSB
    2gb DDR2 RAM
    14.1” SXGA+ TFT Display (1400 x 1050 resolution)
    60gb (7200 rpm) Hard Drive
    ATI Mobility Radeon X300 128MB
8x DVD Read and 24x CDRW
    Wireless 2200B/G Network Connection
    NO fingerprint reader
    battery+AC cable

There is also one with almost the same config. except:
    512 MB DDR266 RAM
and ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 AGP 4x, but it's cheaper, at 370USD
    IEEE 802.11a/b

    OR is there better options?
    I really want a under 15' laptop,
    NO XGA plz!
average graphic performance (how good is a integrated GPU?)
good battery life (2-3 hours would be fine)

    THANKS

:) if it wasn't on ebay, I would certainly bargin for the price.

Well, I like to play fps games, but since i'm still in school, I don't want pass too much time on it. so ability to play games would be a bonus for me, not a must. But i still want to have a good, about average GPU,just in case.

The most recent generation of games that might run respectably at a lower detail and resolution on the T43 includes Doom 3, Call of Duty, Far Cry, and Half-Life 2.

I bought a T43 with better specs than the first one you mentioned for $480 in December. It had a 2.0 GHz Pentium M, 15" FlexView IPS screen, fingerprint reader, and 9-cell battery. $350 sounds about right for the one you're looking at getting.

$350 is low or at least, that would be American dollars for you guys. Lucky. Things are so expensive in Canada. The $450 price might be more common here for a T43. That sounds like good specs but don't worry about the memory. You can always upgrade that for cheap.

So $350 about right for this?
    1.86GHz Pentium M Centrino
    2GB DDR
    60GB 7200rpm
    Wireless
    DVD Multi-recorder/CD-RW drive
    Windows XP Pro
    Office Pro 2007

    Exploring,
Memory and CPU are a little low. What are you going to use the disk for and what OS are you going to run? Photoshop, because of cpu demand, doesn't mix well with the others.
