    Your laptop will come with a 24 gb ssd (used as a cache drive) in the M.2 slot. Your best bet would probably just be to upgrade that (I think they come in sizes up to 128 gb) and install the OS on there and leave everything else how it is (format the main drive of course, or just migrate the OS to the M.2 drive). That way you've got your mass storage drive, your drive with the OS and anything else you want on there and you keep your optical drive.
