every time I restart of my laptop, the bluetooth is turn on by default, then I have to use Fn+F5 to turn to off, and when I'm in tablet mode, that's really an inconvenience.

Is there a way to permanent turn off bluetooth? I don't have the lenovo connectivity driver installed.

    thanks.

If you install the driver, won't it just remember the last settings?

My bluetooth is always off like that

For a quick hack, disable it in device manager?

I didn't install connectivity driver due to conflict with windows 7 driver for wwan.

I cant find my bluetooth in device manager, do you know the specific location?

On my X201s: Once you turn Bluetooth on through Fn+F5, a Bluetooth Radios group will show up underneath the Batteries group in Device Manager. You should be able to disable the devices (Generic Bluetooth Adapater, Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator) once they show up.

That would disable it, but the hardware would still be on.. and I'm sure power saving is one aspect a tablet user is looking for.

I would check for a BIOS update and Hotkey driver update as these control the hardware at a level lower than the Windows Bluetooth drivers. My Thinkpads have always remembered the hardware state.

Sorry for the confusion, but this is true. It would still be powered on. I just had the two previous posted questions in my head when I quickly answered that.

since the BT module can be easily accessed under the palmrest of an X200T, Daidojih's suggestion (albeit with a #1 JIS phillips screwdriver and not a crowbar :D) is a good one.

The other way you can disable it is so to "cripple" the Bluetooth stack in Windows. Rename the bth named .inf files in %WINDIR%\inf to something else, such as--tack on ".old" on the end. Do a text search within the files to find all of them.
