    Indrek,

Thanks for the info. I will try your post and see what I can get from it. Really very helpful. Thanks

    Lead,
Thanks also for your post you've also been very helpful to me. I am just curious as what the number means if anything. It is a t500 and if you indicated as advanced view is there any other option.

    thanks

Basically just want to see the current state of my battery as in how much life left.

full charge capacity tells you how much your battery can be charged to.
remaining capacity tells you how much charge your battery currently has.
design capacity tells you how much capacity your battery was designed to have.
To get your wear level, plug in your values to this equation: (full charge capacity / design capacity) * 100 = wear level

Or alternatively, press the Thinkvantage button, go to the System health, click on Battery status, and it will tell you the current wear level on your battery.

Does anything come up? Are you using the older Thinkvantage software (not the newest one using PC Doctor)? Run System Update and try to update your software to get the latest Thinkvantage, it's really good because it tells you a ton of info about your system. If you can't get System Update running then go to the Lenovo website and find the support page for your system and install the Lenovo Thinkvantage Toolbox.

I dl/d the thinkvandtage doctore and it read that my 9 cell battery has 85% capacity. Compare to my 2 year old 6 cell battery that has 100% capacity.

9 cell battery has 85% capacity purchased on 12/2009
6 cell battery has 100% capacity purchased 2 years ago.

9 cell has warranty till 11/10 so it looks like I have to call lenovo for exchange.

So, what's it mean when current capacity exceeds design capacity?

    Full charge capacity: 68.41 Wh
    Design capacity: 66.24 Wh

Design capacity indicates what a new battery that meets specifications should have as its initial charge capacity. Generally, it's quite normal to have a full charge capacity over the design capacity at first. I believe Sanyos in particular seem to start off with a full charge value a few Wh higher than the design capacity.
