    supposed to have System graphics
NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M (256MB Open GL)

how can i verify this is the one i have?

when i go to nvidia control panel and look in system information it says

Nvidia Quadro FX 570m and then Memory: 512MB

shouldn't it read 256mb? not that i'm complaining, just wondering whether i'm looking at the right information.

The reason for why is due to the fact of TurboCache that the nVidia card has. 256MB of your RAM is probably being used for the video card. Just like ATi's Hypermemory.
