Ok I was playing around with settings.

Anyway I just realized I have lost my volume indicators for some reason including the think light, brightness, etc indicators.

Shouldnt be a driver issue cause it was showing up before. All the functions still work, but its just that its no longer showing up on the screen. ANyone know the quick reason to this?

BTW going to display settings and then advanced settings in the on screen display DOESNT work.

uninstall and reinstall the hotkey display drivers, if not restart a few times after installing.

on windows 7 it took me 3 restarts for the on screen indicators to finally show up, kind of weird but it worked.

Also reinstall the System Interface driver. The hotkey drivers did nothing for me by themselves in Windows 7; I had to install the System Interface driver to get my display indicators.

I wish I'd found those drivers far sooner; for awhile, I just accepted it as the price I had to pay for running beta/release-candidate operating systems.

This happened to me too after I clean installed Vista. I installed all the drivers, but it still didn't come up.

What worked for me was going into regedit.exe (just type it in the search bar or run command line), then going to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/IBM/TPHOTKEY/OnScreenDisplay. I then looked to the entry for "FadeoutTime" and noticed it was set to "0", so basically it wouldn't display at all. I changed it 175 (hexidecimal) and it stays up now for about half a second.

Don't know if this is your problem, but it is worth a look.

Oh, and make sure "Enable" is set to "1".

    Cheers,
    Josh

Hi everyone. This is my first post. :D

    Just sharing my n00bish experience.

Downloading the hotkey driver from http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-68000.html and then running the .exe file that you've saved merely places the hotkey driver in the "C:\DRIVERS\WIN\HOTKEY" folder. It does not then go on to automatically install it for you.

I was puzzled why the on-screen indicators did not reappear after I did that.

I finally discovered that I actually had to navigate to that folder and run the SETUP.exe in order to install hotkey.

Yes. I am a n00b, and still learning from seasoned experts here.

    :)
