    they forgot to mention that you need to cut part of the CPU so that it wont touch the hard disk platter when it spins, thus causing to loose the "w" button on the keyboard.

    It's not going to happen. Only way you'll get i5-level performance is to overclock a Penryn-level CPU. That is install a X9000 or pinmodded X9100 into it and overclock using Throttlestop or do a 200->266Mhz BSEL PLL pinmod on a T9300/T9500 + run dual-IDA.

    Though you might want to offload the T61 and get a SB T420 instead. They have noticably lower power consumption so give better battery life. Not to mention faster CPU/GPU options. T420 systems should see some heavy discounting leading up to IVB's release.
