has anyone tried this? I like the form factor and resolution but the 8gb limit on the 620m and the 5xxm won't run my vms. The 720qm will take 8gb modules so since it's the same socket will this work? Thanks

No BIOS support for quad cores AFAIK.

Too bad. I7 Don't have iGPU but I hoped that T410 which has nvidia gpu should be fine.
    Have anyone tried?

T410s has a soldered on BGA CPU, which means no replacement. Also it is struggling to keep the Arrandale dual core CPU cool.

T410 doesn't work with the Arrandale quad core i7 CPU, someone has already tried and failed. T420 can be upgraded to quad core cpu with little tinkering, but it runs hot.

I believe someone did the 35w 3612QM in the T430 and it ran normally temp wise.

Yeah, confirmed about T410. I put 920XM and it did not boot. It had Nvidia GPU.
