I get this Event Viewer error about once a day.

    Event ID: 9
The device, \Device\Ide\ iaStor0, did not respond within the timeout period.

The iaStor error only appears when my system is idle, so I have not noticed any performance issues. My system is about 2 months old and I started getting the error about 1 month ago.

    My system - T500 ~ T9400 2.53GHz 1066MHz 6MBL2~ Vista 32bit Home Basic ~ WXGA 15.4" LED ~ ATI Mobility Radeon 3650 ~ 4GB ram ~ 160GB 7200rpm HD ~ Intel Turbo Memory 2GB

I have checked my Task Scheduler to see if the date/time of the iaStor error corresponded with any Tasks, such as a scheduled defrag, but there are no scheduled tasks running when the iaStor Event Viewer error is logged.

I tried the registry hack described in this link, but it did not stop the error.

Intel has issued an updated driver to fix this iaStor timeout error.
    http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/imsm/sb/cs-025783.htm

But Lenovo has apparently customized the driver so we cannot install the driver from the Intel website.

This is what the Intel Driver Update Utility says after running their Activex program.
    http://support.intel.com/support/graphics/detect.htm

Product Detected Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family
    Current Driver Installed 7.14.01.6029
A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer. The Intel Driver Update Utility is not able to update the driver. Installing a generic Intel driver instead of the customized computer manufacturer driver may cause technical issues. Contact your computer manufacturer for the latest driver for your computer.

The driver version I have installed on my system for the "Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family" is 8.563.2.1000. I am not sure why Intel says my current driver installed is 7.14.01.6029. I have the switchable graphics which may be the reason these drivers don't match up.

From Lenovo's website, I have the latest Switchable Graphics driver 8.563.2.1000.

I also have the latest Intel Matrix Storage Manager Driver 8.8.0.1009.

Anyone else getting this iaStor error in their Event Viewer?
