i bought corsair vs2gsd667d2 stick, which is a 2 gig stick

on their site they said the vs1gsd667d2 stick is the stick for the ideapad s10

well the ideapad s10 comes with a 1 gig stick, but apparently is upgradable to 2 gigs so i figured the stick with the same specs just the 2 gig version instead of the 1 gig would work

but i cannot boot up the computer, just get a black screen and a series of beeps

bad stick or something i need to do to get it to work or not compatible?

    thanks

the max ram an atom based netbook can take is 2gb period!!!! thats would be why. the only netbook so far on the market that can take more then 2gb would be the lenovo s12 the one gb stick i believe in the s10 is soldered on (thats how it is on the s12)

the 1 gig stick on my s10 is removeable

when i remove it and boot up i get the same error i get when the 2 gig stick is in it

when i boot up with the removable 1 gig stick in it windows only shows 1 gig total ram

yes i do, gotta make sure it fits though

but what if that laptop isnt compatible with the stick, then it wouldnt boot anyway right, so im not really fully disagnosing the problem

Well find a laptop that does use the same ram? Shouldn't be that hard. Do memtest on it.
