Hey,
ive got a little problem regarding my y510p.
Last week I purchased the 8g ram, 755m sli, 4700mq version and was quite happy until I started playing.
The throttling began 2 minutes into the game (borderlands2) with fps before throttle: ~80 and after throttling:~ 20
I thought after checking some threads that the main problem would be the ultrabay gpu, but after disabling sli it still occured.
So i began the check deeper into the long y510p thread here and found interesting things about CPU overheating and throttling and undervolting as one solution.
So I undervolted with XTU by 80mv and bought a cooling pad. Both with no succes, the temps easily climb to 90°+ when gaming or benchmarking CPU.
Today I also regognized that my IdeaPad started getting really loud while I was learning besides it (Idle). The Tempereratur peaked randomly in idle to 80° (hwr said max was even 90°) with just skype and hwrmonitor in the backround.
So what is the deal here? Did I purchase a poor manufactued unit?
Eventhough some mentioned heating problems, I couldnt find one single thread mentioning heat spikes that high.
Thanks in advance guys,
I started getting in touch with the retour program from my supplier but maybe there is something someone could recognize without sending it back.
ideapad y510p cpu high tempereratur even in idle
