*Big Sigh* I really recommend that you just send it back to lenovo. If you don't know what you're doing and you reformatted, you should really just send it back. It'll save everyone from explaining installing every driver step by step. If anyone else wants to do that be my guest.

don't mess with computer, when you don't know how to do this correctly.
you can try to find a friend, who can help you with this or, as xnviews said, send it back to lenovo...

As faar as I've read around this forum you can download some lenovo tool that updates every lenovo driver/software as new versions become available???

So it wouldn't be a problem to do a fresh install of either Vista or XP???

Please correct me if I'm wrong!!

Wow you guys are really supportive. I'm sure he still has the recovery software, so even if it goes belly up, he can still revert it back to factory settings. You guys don't need to lambast him and suggest he return it.

Best guess is that you go to lenovo.com and find drivers for your laptop in the support section.

Huh, well this thread is oddly negative. Must be the T61 delays. :p

Anyway, HERE'S a link to the wireless drivers for XP on the T61. Just pick the one for the adapter you ordered (Intel Wi-Fi link or ThinkPad Wireless "N"), download and then install. It should work fine after that.

No it's the fact that he started another thread about the same thing. I mean I don't have a problem helping people with certain issues but ctimk84 is really just fumbling in the dark. We gave him the same advice in the last thread to take it in because the problems he described went beyond just a format. He seemed to have a corrupt hard drive which wouldn't respond to pressing the thinkvantage at startup. That plus the fact that he doesn't know what he's doing tells me that he should send it back. He shouldn't be having these sorts of problems if his laptop is new anyway.

What the heck guys. Regardless of his prior post "getting the wireless" working is a super simple step that just requires pointing him to the correct driver. Telling someone just to send their laptop back because they are having some troubles the first time around doing some DIY work deserves a bigger  than I have available to insert into this post.

Also remember that not only are threads valuable to the original poster, but it helps keep a log of solutions to problems if someone wants to find a similar answer down the road. From your posts this thread was pretty useless in that area.

You guys never know when there might actually be a problem and it isn't that dudes fault. Even if it is something he did, that was really rude of both of you.

    Now, back to the topic...

I disagree with both night and dietcokefiend, but that's fine. Regardless I hope ctimk84 gets his problem resolved one way or the other.

I don't mind what xnviews said. It's alright. I've managed to get my computer to install a clean version of windows vista back. I'm fine now.
