i am sure this problem has been solved before but i have been browsing for about half an hour searching everything possible in the lenovo forum and maybe i just have bad luck but i cant find the solution

my problem is when i try to run the install for the graphics drivers i get an error it says "the driver being installed is not validated for this computer. please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer's manufacturer. setup will exit"

if anyone could help me i would be very grateful thanks friends

edit: i am on windows xp with a t61

Have you tried the driver from intel.com: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Det...&OSFullName=Windows* XP Professional&lang=eng

Uninstall whatever driver you currently have installed by going into the device manager then reboot. Redownload just in case the downloaded file somehow became corrupt and try again. If you do indeed have a T61 with gm965 chipset and x3100 graphics, the drivers from Lenovo or Intel should work.

The "Intel GMA X3100 GM965" is the integrated graphics and chipset that Lenovo and most other laptop manufacturers have been using since May 07.

I got this message too, but I was able to use the driver from intel by uninstalling the lenovo driver from the add/remove programs menu. Doing this from the device manager will probably work as well, like stallen said.

For the Vista driver, download the zip, not the exe. Check the readme and it'll have the installation instructions.

Once I installed a newer version however, Windows update said that I could update the driver again but it actually downgraded back to the previous version.
