I was wondering if upgrading to nvs 5400m would be a huge improvement.

Also, what would upgrading to nvs 5400m improve? Does it only help when you're playing games?

And how much do you think it'd cost to upgrade aftermarket?

AFAIK, U can't upgrade after market as nvs5400 is built into the mother board.

Pretty sure OP is talking about choosing the upgrade option when ordering, I think NVS5400M will definitely help in gaming since it's based of a decent Fermi chip, especially at the current $50 price it's a no brainer, back when it was a $250 option I probably wouldn't have done so. The HD4000 is really good for integrated graphics.

NVS 5400M is 25% better on gaming, 40% better on CAD than HD4000.
